An Eye Contact Experience

A space to explore eye contact in presence. The evening is divided in sessions: briefly come by and try it out for a few minutes or enjoy a deep practice lasting multiple hours. You choose your own intensity.
The event will be between 18.30 and 23.00 on the 6th of March 2026 at Common Ground Amsterdam.

Structure of the event

The room will be filled with pairs of seats. You can choose between sitting down in front of someone or sitting by yourself to wait for someone to join you.

When you have partnered up, you can take a breath or 2 to land and start looking into the other person’s eye.

The aim is to be present and observe what happens in yourself as well as in your partner. Anything is welcome to show up. Laughter, sadness, anger, grief, joy, confusion, connection, disconnection. Something very important about this is that we try to not show anything on purpose, but rather observe what comes up.
If someone is smiling at you - there is no need to give back a polite smile. Maybe you have an experience that is the complete opposite - and you are truly invited to show just that.

The intention is to stay for at least a couple minutes in every new encounter. There is no maximum duration. The interaction ends when one of the participants folds their hands in a namaste sign in front of their heart.

There will be plenty of mats and cushions available to rest and take a break in between sessions.
Cost
This event is unconditionally given. That means it’s a gift to the world from me, and I have no expectation of reciprocity (If I do somehow, please contact me with your feedback.)
That doesn’t mean I don’t welcome energy exchange. I’ll lovingly accept your gift of food or money. Perhaps you’d like to offer me a massage or sound healing. Teach or lend me a skill, offer me to use your canoe during summer or whatever else you come up with 😇.
The best way to offer energy exchange is is to send me an e-mail (and let me know if your offer extends to the spaceholders too).
If you wish to offer money it is best to put some cash in the box at the event. I also have a donation page.
And again. Please don’t feel pressured to donate. I wish to invert the dynamic. If we receive a lot of love unconditionally, doesn’t it become much easier to give as well?
Rules & Guidelines

It is possible to join the event at 4 different times: between 18.20-18.30, 18.50-19.00, 19.20-19.30 or 19.50-20.00. There will be spaceholders welcoming you at the door to briefly check in & introduce the event. Joining outside of these times will not be possible to minimize interruptions. Leaving the event is possible at any time.

The eyegazing is platonic. Please do not use it to flirt / date / express sexual energy on purpose. If someone strikes your interest, feel free to approach them in the hangout.

The main space is non-verbal (excluding the hangout). There will be a small seperate room available where talking is allowed (although at a low volume). It is meant mostly as a space to ground yourself. If the non-verbal in combination with eyegazing starts feeling overwhelming and you would really benefit from having a small conversation to get back to reality. For this purpose, feel free to approach anyone sitting in the room or ask one of the spaceholders to be a listening ear for you.
Exceptions to the non-verbal rule:

You had a deep session with someone and want to ask for verbal consent for a hug.

You have a practical question for me or the spaceholders.

This kind of event can be INTENSE. There will be a team of lovely spaceholders with different levels of experience in holding space who will be able to catch alot, but we are not professionals. We expect that you take care of your own boundaries and take responsibility for your own experience.
Potluck Snacks
Feel free to bring some snacks to the event to share. Something like grapes, nuts or chocolate usually do very well. There is tea in the space, but more is always welcome.
